About
Dr Brigette Deford Veterinarian is an Associate Veterinarian at Cainhoy Veterinary Hospital. He has been practicing small animal medicine in Mount Pleasant for the past six years as both a chief of staff and an associate physician. Dr. Deford has over 24 years of clinical experience in Tennessee and South Carolina (SC). The relationship between pets and their parents is what drove her to become a veterinarian, and she now calls Cainhoy Vet Hospital her new home.

Dr Brigette DeFord Veterinarian is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Cellular Biology & a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee. His primary focus is internal medicine, hospice, preventive medicine, dermatology, behavior and helping families adjust to their new fur babies. Dr. Deford loved teaching and was an adjunct professor of microbiology and anatomy. He is committed to always challenging himself with continuing education opportunities in the community and around the world, in line with certifications such as the American Vet Medical Association. He is also a big advocate for preventive care medicine to help patients live longer by preempting potential diseases. Back in the Charleston area, he is affectionately referred to as the “Doodle Doctor”.

Dr Brigette DeFord Veterinarian and her family live in Mount Pleasant and enjoy spending time at the beach and out in the community. She and her husband, Al, have a 15-year-old daughter, Mia, from China. Their family is not complete without their 2 dogs; Herman the English Cream Golden Retriever that warms your heart, and a new German Shepherd puppy named Harrison Deford after her favorite actor.
