About
Dr Shane Burkhead Veterinarian Another Auburn graduate, Class of 1996, Dr Shane Burkhead is one of the first in a long list of Doctors of Veterinary Medicines who started their veterinary experience as a technician at NFAH. Dr. B was invited to join the practice as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine & owner immediately upon graduation and celebrates over 25 years of partnership. Dr. Burkhead & their wife Michele enjoy a large family here in Tallahassee that comprises his parents & Michelle’s mother which came in handy with twin girls and two sons. Animals for all rounded out a very busy household. We look forward to one of his children following in his footsteps as tech to Doctor of Veterinary Medicine @ NFAH one day.
Over the years, he has enjoyed leadership roles in not just veterinary programs such as Big Bend Vet Medical Association or the Florida Vet Medical Association but also local charitable groups such as Boys Town. On his days off, Dr Shane Burkhead Veterinarian enjoys spending time with the family, camping, & fishing & lots of church family activities as well. His passion for his role as a Managing Doctor of Veterinary Medicine for the practice is not surpassed by his knowledge of Ultrasound imaging. All of our associates depend on the role he plays in teaching & supporting diagnoses in this area.
