Dr Meg Barron Veterinarian – Qualifications (DVM)

About
Dr Meg Barron Veterinarian With more than six years of experience as a practicing veterinarian and a lifelong dedication to caring for animals, Dr Meg Barron Veterinarian started with us as a veterinarian in 2024. Dr. Barron committed her education to vet medicine, which was no surprise to Dr. Barron’s parents, who say they’ve known she’d have a career involving animals since she was two years old. She believes that caring for animals of all ages and forming relationships with pets & their people is a special privilege. We couldn’t agree more and are thrilled to have Dr. Barron on the Elliott Bay Animal Hospital team (AHT).

Between undergrad and vet school, Dr Meg Barron Veterinarian worked as a veterinary assistant at Blum Animal Hospital (BAH) in Chicago, where she assisted nine veterinarians and scrubbed in as a surgical assistant. After completing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Barron spent six years as an Associate Vet at PetVets Animal Hospital in Oak Park, Ill., until relocating to Seattle in 2023. In this role, she received amazing mentorship while management and performing surgeries, & emergency procedures, and upwards of 30 wellness examinations daily.

Most interested in geriatric medicine and surgery, Dr Meg Barron Veterinarian is motivated by the opportunity to solve the root of patient issues & to use those findings to determine the proper treatment method for ultimate improvement. “Although I always hope to see pets at their healthiest, I also love the challenge of figuring out complex medical cases,” Dr. Barron shared. “Working through these cases & knowing that there is always something new to learn only adds to my interest in vet medicine.”

Having supported practices with multiple doctors in her varying roles, Dr. Barron values team collaboration. She believes that every member of our hospital team plays a vital role—incorporating different strengths & experiences to provide the best care. Communication is key when teamwork with both our team and clients, which Dr. Barron does so thoroughly, sharing the most up-to-date, evidence-based medical consult with each client & then tailoring a plan best suited for their pet.

Through her curiosity, eagerness to learn from others, & innate ability to connect with patients and clients,Dr Meg Barron Veterinarian is an invaluable addition to our hospital.
