About
Dr Brian Loon Veterinarian graduated from Murdoch University, Western Australia, in 2007 & has since been practising as a small animal vet in Singapore. Dr Loon’s areas of special interest comprised diagnostic ultrasonography, endoscopy, & minimally invasive (key-hole) surgery (laparoscopy) & dentistry, & he has obtained further training internationally in these fields:

  • Diagnostic ultrasonography: Various courses from professors from the United States of America & Germany. Experience since 2009.
  • Endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery/laparoscopy: Multiple courses conducted by Colorado State University (CSU) professors. Experience since 2014.
  • Acupuncture: Certificate in Veterinary Acupuncture with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) after undergoing a year-long intensive training in (TCVM) and Acupuncture. Experience since 2014.
  • Dentistry: Courses in periodontology, pocket pet dentistry & dental radiology from Australian & American specialist dentists; Advanced dentistry: course in endodontics (root canal therapy) by Accesia Academy in Sweden, & course in orthodontics and prosthodontics by the European School of Advanced Vet Studies (ESAVS). Experience in general dentistry since 2008, & in advanced dentistry since 2018.
  • PennHIP: Certified and registered member of PennHIP, an internationally known modality for diagnosing hip dysplasia in cats and dogs. Experience since 2013.

In addition to receiving training, Dr Brian Loon Veterinarian also enjoys conducting vet training regionally, including being a practical instructor for endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery courses conducted by Colorado State University professors, lead anaesthetist for ‘Lap Spay for Cause workshops in Bali, & course lecturer for veterinary anaesthesia & ultrasonography workshops in the Philippines. Dr Brian Loon Veterinarian was also an adjunct lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic for the Specialist Diploma in Veterinary Wellness Care in the areas of Complementary Medicine and Veterinary Acupuncture.

Dr Brian Loon Veterinarian strongly believes in providing animals and pet parents access to the best possible and up-to-date veterinary care. He also places great emphasis on client education as he believes that by understanding their pets better, animal owners can enhance the bond with their furry companions, regularly giving talks to animal parents about healthcare for their furkids.

His love for pets started with his local mixed-breed dog when he was young. He is now accompanied by Hayden, a loveable & energetic Miniature Schnauzer.
