About Doctor Margaret Johnson Veterinarian
Doctor Margaret Johnson is the Chief of ER at Calusa Veterinary Center! Doctor Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University in 1991 & earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland College of Vet Medicine in 1996. Doctor Johnson began working in the vet field in 1987 as a kennel assistant and bather and worked her way up to where she is today. Dr. Johnson began working with animals when she was 10, primarily with horses and cattle. In college, Doctor Johnson worked in a swine research center’s farrowing house, thinking she wanted to be a large animal vet. However, Dr. Johnson found her true calling when she attended veterinary school and volunteered in the ICU.
According to Dr. Johnson, the best part about working in the vet field is finding ways to improve the lives of other sentient beings on this Earth. Doctor Johnson finds great joy & perfection when his can help an animal by relieving their pain & improving their overall health. Doctor Johnson grew up in a military family, so she has lived all over the United States(US), primarily on the East Coast, and now resides in Florida. In her free time, Doctor Johnson enjoys going to the ocean, gardening, diving, boating, & spending time with her 2 children and six grandchildren.
