About Dr Elizabeth Appleman Veterinarian

Doctor Elizabeth Appleman rejoined the AMC as a Senior Veterinarian in 2011. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Stanford University in Stanford, CA in 2000 and her degree in vet medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA in 2004. She then completed a one-year internship at the Animal Medical Center in 2005, followed by a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been a board-certified internist since 2008. She is currently working part-time.

Dr. Appleman’s special interests in Internal Medicine include endocrinology and hematology. Prior research projects have explored the use of Trilostane in dogs with Cushing’s disease, the association between cobalamin deficiencies and anemia in dogs, and the feasibility of platelet cryopreservation and plateletpheresis in dogs.

Dr. Appleman lives on the Upper East Side with her human family and a silly kitten named Silver. She is also looking out for her next rescue Corgi, as she is particularly fond of this breed and all similarly built dogs!
