Dr. Saunders has served as an Emergency Vet at the Friendship Hospital for Animals in WA, DC where she maintained primary case responsibility for patients and mentored interns rotating on the service. Dr. Saunders completed a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Animal Medical Centre and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Before entering veterinary school, she was a research student at The Roslin Institute (University of Edinburgh), a science teacher at the Foxcroft School in Middleburg, VA, and a clinic and laboratory intern at the Clinic for Special Children in Strasburg, Pennsylvania. Dr. Saunders there is authored several medical journal articles.
